Yes Sir, this is « Gigi » and the young girl from « An american in Paris » Leslie Caron. She has transformed four XVII century buildings into a haven of charm.
The loft like bar is dedicated to her career with posters and stills of her films on the walls. Antique oil paintings or Miss Leslie's own work hang on the walls of the delightful bedrooms, snatched long in advance.
In the kitchen, the Japanese chef, French cuisine trained, Daisuke Inagaki, offers market fresh produce with a decidedly regional flavour. Snails in a salad tossed with girolle mushrooms. Saddle of rabbit boned and flavoured with challots. Whole veal kidney marinated and cooked in local Irancy wine. Individual red berry tart served with sorbet to match is a winner every time. G.P.
